Sorry, guys, that is NEITHER the SANTA MARIA nor a Grace Line vessel. Rather, the ship pictured is the SANTA MARTA, one of thirteen similar ships, the “5,000 ton” class of the United Fruit Company. I wrote extensively of that class of ship in my 1993 book “GOING BANANAS” 100 Year of American Fruit Ships in the Caribbean, Vol. 3 of my American Merchant Marine History Series. Pretty ship, nonetheless!
